As you know, WPS Office offers four skin (interface) styles: 2013 Elegant Black, 2013 Water Blue, 2016 White, and Classic Style. Both Office Free and Office Professional support switching skins among the four styles.
Microsoft Word 2013 can open Microsoft Works 6.0 to 9.0 documents by default. However, you still need to download and install the Wks4Converter_en-US.msi file to open Microsoft Works 4.0 or 4.5 documents.

In Word 2013, after clicking the Open option, you need to select Computer, then click Browse. In Word 2016 and later, after clicking the Open option, you need to click Browse.
Don't believe any of it. WPS Office is a full-featured office suite that costs absolutely nothing. It's way better than you'd expect, and more than capable of replacing Microsoft Office for, I suspect, the vast majority of users. Oh, and it's available not just for Windows, but also Android, iOS, and Linux. Again, for free.
Personally, I quit Microsoft Office earlier this year and haven't looked back. I've been using Kingsoft Office 2013 and greatly enjoying its modern interface. Indeed, though some folks are fans of freebie suites like LibreOffice and OpenOffice, I find those tools a bit dated-looking. Kingsoft -- sorry, WPS -- feels fresh and current, and obviously the developers are working to keep it that way.

The 2004 incarnation of the office suite, dubbed WPS Office Storm, was released in late 2004. It claimed to offer total backward compatibility with Microsoft Office file formats. Unlike previous versions, WPS Storm was based on OpenOffice.org and was the first WPS Office suite to support operating systems other than Microsoft Windows. Kingsoft collaborated with Intel and IBM to integrate its text-to-text and text-to-speech technology into WPS Office Storm.
The free and paid versions of Kingsoft Office 2013 were released on 4 June 2013. They consist of three programs: Writer, Spreadsheets, and Presentation, which are similar to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.[15] WPS Office for Linux Alpha 18 Patch 1 was released on 11 June 2015.[16]
On December 16, 2014, WPS Office 2014 for Windows, build 9.1.0.4932, was released as a subscription model for a monthly charge of US$3 for some features. The free version provided basic features and supported Microsoft Office .doc, .xls, and .ppt file formats. Premium paid versions provided full compatibility for Microsoft Office files. Officially only the paid 2014 version supported saving files in .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx formats, but, actually, the free version also supported these formats (as had the 2013 free version).[18]
Kingsoft Office is a Chinese cross-platform office suite, runningon Windows, Linux and Android. Most people are probably not aware of this product, as it has mostly catered tothe Chinese market, in Chinese, for a long while, under a name of WPS Office. Branded KSOffice or KSO, and withEnglish support, it is slowly making its way worldwide.
I decided to have a look and see whether it can bring merit to the somewhat troublesome office market,dominated mostly by Microsoft Office. And while alternatives are good and true, the bigproblem remains the compatibility between formats and sharing files with clueless people. Then again, newthings can sometimes be quite interesting.
I have to admit Kingsoft feels and looks very nice. It is fast and snappy. It also comes with a sleek tabbedinterface, with the welcome page beckoning you to download online templates, somewhat like Microsoft Office2013. You also have links to the support center and forum, and you can search around for what you want or need.
But there's more. If you are not happy with the existing interface, you can easily change it. Click on theshirt-like icon in the top right corner, and you have the ability to switch between many skins. The skinmanager offers classic and 2013 looks, the one called ongmani, which is quite like the Ribbon thingie, andthere's rainbow, too. Moreover, you can make the menus look flat, like in Windows 8, so you get a plenty of customization.
One not so strong side of this office suite is the limited range of file formats. For example, the Writer cansave files in its own native one, text, HTML, as well as DOC, but not DOCX or ODT. Now, you can argue you donot need ODT, but DOCX seems like a must.
Kingsoft Office is a fairly refreshing departure from the more classic office suite scene. Then again, it isnot. However, in trying to be much like Microsoft, this product achieves a strange fresh of uniqueness, a twistof improved ergonomics and better usability than the benchmark original. It's also fast, elegant and snappy,and highly customizable.
I am not sure if it's really that ripe for global markets, though. A lack of file format support is probablyits biggest drawback, unless you aim lower, and do not need that much. Moreover, some tiny issues exist,and should be polished, to give an even smoother experience. All in all, not bad. Quite good. It will beinteresting to see what happens. Perhaps this office suite might make the change where all others failed, andthat is to break the Microsoft monopoly in this market. Or it might just remain a decent, uniquely identicalalternative to the standard, familiar set of programs everyone uses. Dedoimedo out.

I have used Kingsoft office for about two years. I had it on Android first. I love the android tablet version as it has these fluid ribbons for the tools. I then put the Windows version on my laptop. Originally it was the same layout and functionality of word 2003. But the updated version in 2013 is more like office 2007 and 2010. It can open and edit and save in office formats or save in the .et native format. If you can use MS Office, you can use Kingsoft office or WPS office. A great free option that syncs with dropbox for seamless transition between your tablet and Windows computer.

With the new touch-optimized reading mode in Word 2013, you can skim through documents using a finger swipe. Making changes to documents has had a huge overhaul, and expanded to make editing documents easier. In Excel 2013, the new Flash Fill function automatically fills out a range of selected cells. Excel analyzes the entire table, detects relations between cells, and suggests a value or text. On Tablets, you can switch between slides using finger gestures, paint with a stylus for a lecture on film, or use a virtual laser pointer.
In all views, Outlook 2013 brings together fade-in menus for appointments, contacts and tasks. E-mails in Outlook 2013 are now tablet friendly and can be viewed, if you want, in an optimized list view with larger areas.
When you use Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus, you'll realize that there have been some changes. The famous ribbon bar is expanded only when necessary and it's optimized for finger operation on touch screens. In addition to images, you can embed videos via HTML code in Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus. All of the applications come with new touch-optimized viewing modes.
Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus comes with many useful functions, which lets it be selectively used on touch screen devices. Unfortunately, the Office Suite is anything but tablet-friendly. Many selection elements and options are too small for untrained fingers.
Other features of Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus are, however, far more convincing: the PDF editor offers greatly improved options for collaborative editing, there is cloud integration with Skydrive, and extras such as embedding YouTube videos, are great innovations.
